Chapter 110

Chapter 110. The Final Week. (1)

Anyway, towards the pirates.

“Reproduce as much as you’ve killed and plundered.”

“Noooooo!!!”

After witnessing Gryanarr’s chimera production process, which truly embodied PC-like egalitarianism (?) by not discriminating based on age or gender, about a week has passed.

During that time, we experienced a whole bunch of random stuff.

For example, the Pirate Alliance went on a rampage, possibly as a backlash to Marian’s little “pranks.”

The Earth Federation, claiming to be the main force, sent out regular fleets including battleships, causing chaos everywhere.

They ended up destroying a monster nest, which pissed off the monsters, leading to a 300,000-strong monster fleet attacking a mere 30,000-ship fleet.

Meanwhile, users like me, instead of focusing on events, were busy collecting “byproducts” from the sudden faction battles.

At one point, I even temporarily switched to being a diligent scrap collector.

It was a chaotic week, but honestly, it wasn’t that hard.

Quests were rarely impossible to complete, and even if they were, you could just ignore or cancel them and pick a new one, so there was no stress.

Aside from conflicts with factions and other users, there wasn’t much to suffer from.

Faction conflicts were actually welcomed by users.

Conflicts between factions and users?

Unless it was a forced event through a quest, the Earth Federation, which mobilizes at least tens of thousands of ships to handle a single area, or Marian’s Pirate Alliance, which casually throws out 100,000 ships when I ask for help, wouldn’t take users with a few hundred to a thousand ships seriously.

The main forces usually ignored us, and at most, a sub-fleet would respond.

So, the only thing left was user vs. user conflicts—PVP.

But even PVP, as mentioned in the gallery, wasn’t encouraged by this damn game, and it usually ended badly for users.

Except for some hot-blooded newbie commanders, most users were generally against PVP.

So, the result…

<Fleet Dispatch Results in War Zone>

<Fleet Transport Capacity: 87% Fulfilled>

<Acquired Resources: 8,800 Minerals, 720 Rare Resources>

<Captured 3 General Destroyers>

<External Transport Module Discovered>

—————————————-

“Yeah, yummy.”

Sending fleets to the zones where the Earth Federation and Space Monsters were fighting, I either diligently collected scraps or melted down newbie fleets that recklessly invaded.

As usual, thanks to skill and luck, and the fact that most people didn’t even check the gallery and just did their own thing, my fleet, designed for long-range harassment, easily crushed newbie fleets.

Unlike typical PVP, my fleet suffered almost no damage.

Honestly, my life was peaceful and uneventful.

==========

But my healing-life didn’t last long.

There’s a reason I’m talking about all this in the past tense.

The reason is…

—————————————-

<Global Notice>

<Event Announcement>

<A Message to All Commanders>

<The ongoing "Price of Favor" event will end in one week.>

<Upon the event's conclusion, the event shop will also close.>

<Please note that all ongoing quests will be forcibly terminated when the event ends.>

—————————————-

“Wait, the event is already ending?”

Even though only about two months have passed, the event is ending much sooner than I expected.

<Favor Points: 534,764 points>

—————————————-

“Ugh, this probably won’t be enough.”

As soon as I saw the event ending message, I checked my points.

After realizing that even if I grind like crazy, the maximum I can get is around 700,000, I decided to go all out.

In a last spurt, along with the existing high-level quests, I accepted all quests that didn’t require ‘Superhumans,’ regardless of their rank, and deployed fleets and troops without Superhumans.

I decided to put in every effort to earn as many points as possible.

And apart from that effort…

“Hmm, Jessica?”

“Yes, Commander?”

“How long has it been since I last entered the gallery?”

“Uh… about half a month?”

“Wow, it hasn’t been that long.”

Feeling that time flies mercilessly, I sent out the fleet and Superhumans.

I decided to enter the gallery for the first time in a while to see the reactions to the event ending.

But when I opened the community window, which I hadn’t opened in almost half a month, and clicked into the gallery, unfortunately, the ‘reactions and evaluations regarding the event ending’ I had expected were nowhere to be seen.

-[Gallery firepower ㅆㅅㅌㅊ](5,311)

-[Sorry, I was wrong](3,754)

-[This event is important now, this event is important now, this event is important now…](623)

-[You will all burn](7,124)

-[Points are important, not the event](5,115)

—————————————-

‘What the heck.’

Maybe it’s because I haven’t checked the gallery for half a month.

I couldn’t understand what the heck was going on with the current situation.

‘What’s the problem? Why are they burning up over points?’

I wanted to just post and ask what’s going on, but as I was about to press the post button, I felt like I shouldn’t write it.

The moment I write, I feel like some danger I can’t handle will come.

No, this isn’t just a thought or feeling…

It’s like a ‘memory that shouldn’t exist’ is replaying vividly in my head.

So, I accepted this ominous feeling, took my hand off the post button, and decided to lurk for three minutes.

And after watching for a while, I realized what the problem was.

The reason the gallery was on fire was because of how many points were needed to rank.

Of course, I couldn’t grasp this just by skimming through for about three minutes.

There are two factions in the gallery right now.

One faction believes you need at least a few million points to rank, while the other thinks that needing a few million points is nonsense.

At first, both sides were evenly matched, just arguing without much conflict.

To be precise, the few million faction had a slight advantage, but recently, starting with the 3rd place, top rankers’ proof shots kept coming in, causing the few hundred thousand faction, who felt oppressed, to rise up and set the gallery on fire.
