Chapter 99

Chapter 99. A Strong Spirit Resides in a Strong Body (2)

The sight of Partia, who had turned into a muscle monster, was truly a shocking visual. Unfortunately, unlike me, who could watch from a distance through the screen, the poor Space Elves had no time to mentally prepare themselves.

– “Eek?!”

– “What, what is that?!”

– “A monster, no, a new type of bio-weapon from the monsters?! Attack!”

These unfortunate Space Elves, without a moment to brace themselves, encountered a grotesque muscle monster that looked like it belonged in some bizarre adventure story or a place where you’d expect to see a certain martial arts technique. Naturally, they panicked and swung all sorts of weapons at Partia, the Muscle.

– “Huuu… To demean this body, which I’ve trained over and over to be of help to the Savior, with mere weapons…”

– *Kwaaang!*

– “You insolent fools!!”

– “Oh, damn.”

Surprisingly, Partia, with the aura of a priest who could wield a bayonet or smash heads with a holy book, began by splitting the skull of a charging Space Elf with a single hand chop.

– “I, Partia, shall grant you salvation, you heathens!”

Despite her testosterone-filled body, her voice remained delicate and pure. These Space Elves, who could’ve easily been captains of a small pirate group, were wiped out in an instant, sending chills down my spine. But those chills were short-lived.

– “Oh, Savior, look at me!”

– “Huh?”

– “Save this lamb and return it to the embrace of God!”

– *Kwa-dduk!*

– “Y-you monster!”

– “Lord, please extend your saving hand to this lamb possessed by a wicked devil!!!”

– *Bbeok!*

– “Oh…”

– “Oh, damn.”

Despite being a merciless incarnation of violence to the remaining Space Elves, Partia spoke of salvation while crushing them with nothing but her bare hands and feet.

– “Fall back and suppress her with firepower!”

– “How could I dodge bullets when the Savior is watching over me?”

– “What?”

– “Praise the great Savior, little lamb.”

Somehow, using what I can only describe as the power of “faith,” she blocked bullets flying at her from a distance, as if using some kind of defensive technique.

– “This is the Empire’s pride, a specially enhanced suit, you pathetic human!”

– *Kwaang!*

– “What the hell?!”

– “Relying only on machines, your spirit has become unhealthy.”

– “This can’t be! Why won’t you die?!”

– “‘Piety,’ and ‘Nanomachines,’ son!”

Facing a soldier in a reinforced suit much larger than herself, she casually dropped the “faith and nanomachines” line while smashing them to pieces. Her overwhelmingly macho fighting style made the image of the delicate Partia I had seen earlier completely vanish from my mind. And, unrelated to that, it was incredibly burdensome for me.

– “The Savior is watching over me!!”

– “Gyaaaaaah!!”

Despite how insanely well she fought, every time she killed a member of the Xenobia Empire’s special forces, she would shower me with praise… From my perspective, it was genuinely overwhelming. But whether I was burdened or not, our “Lady” Partia managed to turn the entire special forces of the Xenobia Empire into a thing of the past. Just two hours after Partia arrived…

<Objective: Deploy at least 1 S-Class or higher Superhuman and 1 Destroyer-class or higher ship to eliminate or suppress the enemy before they destroy the plant’s core.>

Despite being a high-level quest with considerable difficulty, the enemies were obliterated in an instant, leaving me with a strangely ambiguous feeling.

And after Pashtira returned from clearing the high-level quest, I wanted to vent my suspicions about this situation to those damn gallery users.

Crushed Xenobia Empire Special Forces Powered Armor Soldier (or so it seems)

Seriously, what is this?

When I played the game, there weren’t characters like this.

Since when did these kinds of characters start appearing?

Comments:

– [Can you feel the ‘performance’ of the gallery owner? Human.]

– [Ah, you don’t know, huh?]

– [Every time I see it, I wonder how they combined those insane back muscles with a cute girl.]

– [The fact that the face remains the same makes it even more bizarre.]

As expected of the jokesters, they greeted me with intense laughter.

For a moment, I felt the urge to track down each of the commenters and hand them over to Marian’s hit list.

But then I thought that would be too petty, so I shook my head and decided to keep watching their reactions.

Of course, if these jokesters kept giving me nonsense answers…

I’d have no choice but to pull out the “Here, we use Marian THE Pirate Empress” card.

Luckily for them, shortly after I posted,

a veteran who had always been oddly friendly to me posted an explanation about that gallery owner joke.

Title: Writing this because surprisingly many people don’t know about Partia.

Author: Arcadia

Content: [Partia concept art]

One of the legendary gallery owners, a character introduced during a past April Fool’s event.

Originally, April Fool’s characters aren’t supposed to be canon, but

somehow she became so popular that she was added to the main story.

She was a free character, so at the time, she was called the hope of non-paying players, but

since she was only available during a limited event, memes about “Partia-less” players started popping up.

As mentioned below, she’s one of the few pure melee characters in the game, which led to all sorts of comedic concepts being created around her,

and she eventually became the 5th or 6th gallery owner.

Her performance itself surpasses most SSS-tier melee characters, but the problem is her complete lack of ranged abilities.

To what extent? She doesn’t even have something like Ignis’s ranged slash ability.

Of course, in PvE, if you set her up for tanking, she can ignore AI or NPC attacks and fight, but

in PvP, the firepower of ranged characters built by players can melt even Partia’s full-tank defense, making it pointless.

-[Upvote for the explanation.]

‘Oh, so that’s how it is.’

Apparently, even after I quit the game, they’ve been running various events.

‘Well, I guess that’s normal.’

Thinking about it, given the scale of the game,

even when I quit, there must have been enough players to keep running events like that.

Anyway, now that I’ve grasped Partia’s performance, I thought I could use her quite effectively.

Just as Partia was at the base,

“Commander~♡ Your Pashtira has returned~♡”

“Oh.”

Pashtira returned at just the right time after clearing a quest.

Since both seemed to belong to the same order, I thought it’d be natural to introduce them to each other…

But the moment they met,

“Pashtira, why are you responding so carelessly to the Savior?”

“Eh, P-Partia unnie?”

“Oh…”

“And what is this vulgar outfit? Even if spreading the Savior’s seed is important for the order… they wouldn’t have told you to dress like this in public, would they?”

“Eheheheh.”

I was genuinely amazed to see the usually laid-back and lewd Pashtira on the verge of being grabbed by the collar by Partia, who was half-transformed into a demon.

I found myself possessed in a game I quit three years ago. But it seems like I’m not the only one who ended up here.
