Chapter 83: The Need for Babies
“That’s what Your Majesty mentioned to me earlier.”
Airael asked, and Linis responded very directly.
“What was it about?”
Airael furrowed her brows, clearly puzzled.
Linis looked around to ensure there were no eavesdroppers in the room and let out a sigh of relief.
Seeing this, Airael’s eyes sparkled with curiosity.
It must be something embarrassing!
Then a light bulb went off in her head.
The “shady” matter between her and Linis was probably only related to that issue.
Linis noticed Airael’s expression and chuckled, “Looks like Your Majesty already figured it out.”
“Yep!”
Airael nodded, her expression serious.
That matter was indeed very important and really needed to be kept secret.
“Linis, can you tell me your thoughts on this now?”
“If possible, I really don’t want to resort to such a method.”
Linis shook her head helplessly, a bitter smile on her face. “But it seems like there’s no better option right now.”
Airael felt a surge of joy.
With Linis’s support, it would be much easier to realize her ideas.
Noticing Linis still had some reservations, Airael spoke up:
“Linis, I don’t know if you’ve heard of the saying ‘to break and then establish’ or ‘the phoenix rises from the ashes.'”
“What does Your Majesty mean by that?”
“Just the literal meaning. It’s like: if I don’t like this palace and think it doesn’t suit my taste, I can only destroy this current palace to build a new one on this land.”
“Though I will do my best to meet your needs, Your Majesty, this approach seems rather extravagant.”
“I understand, so I’m actually pretty satisfied with the current palace. It’s not too outdated, and I just need to change a few things I find unsightly to make it fit the needs of the current era.”
As Airael spoke, she walked over to the window, gazing down at the world outside.
“And this change is a relatively slow process. I believe there will be enough time for others to appreciate and accept its beauty.”
Linis followed her gaze, listening intently to her words.
She realized that their Queen was more mature than she had expected.
“I see, Your Majesty!”
“Thank you, Linis!”
Airael turned to Linis with a smile.
“Since we’ve decided to go this route, let’s discuss how we can do it next.”
Linis was a doer, and she wouldn’t waste any time once a decision was made.
Immediately, they began to outline a rough plan together.
“Um… Linis…”
Airael appeared somewhat hesitant.
“What is it, Your Majesty?”
“I have other matters to attend to. Is it convenient for you to come back in the afternoon? This isn’t something that can be resolved in a short time.”
Airael felt quite embarrassed.
This matter was very important, but she had urgent tasks at hand.
Specifically, two matters: the categorization of new weapons and the research funding from Domiya.
All these needed her approval.
Airael didn’t want the process to happen without her oversight.

Not every elf could be as selfless as Linis.

Linis asked.

“Linis, see you in the afternoon. If you have some free time, we can prepare for our upcoming discussions.”
Linis turned to leave.
While she didn’t have much to prepare, she could tell that Airael hadn’t thought things through too much.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken some time to react.
As Linis exited Airael’s office, she couldn’t help but shake her head.
Though Airael had been performing well, she still seemed a bit green.
After Linis left, Airael continued to tackle her pending matters.
Whenever she had a free moment, she thought about what they should do next.
Time passed, and it was now afternoon.
In the royal palace garden.
Amidst a sea of flowers, Airael sat in a pavilion, leisurely sipping red tea.
Her little hands occasionally picking up an assortment of snacks from the small table, gently munching away.
This life was truly blissful.
Before long, Linis, guided by Hela, arrived.
“Linis, you’re here. Everyone, please step back! No one is allowed near without my orders.”
Upon seeing Linis, Airael was delighted and instructed Hela and the others to leave.
“Yes!”
In response to Airael’s command, Hela immediately led the nearby maids and guards away, leaving only Airael and Linis near the pavilion.
Airael gestured to Linis, “Please, take a seat.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty.”
As Linis sat down, a tea set had already been prepared for her, along with a full table of delicious treats.
Clearly, this discussion would be enjoyable.
After pouring herself a cup of red tea, Linis took a sip and asked Airael, “Your Majesty, have you formed any ideas in your mind?”
“I’ve got a few thoughts.”
Airael nodded and continued, “Linis, there must be couples in the Elven Race who wish for children but have yet to conceive.”
Linis was momentarily taken aback but then smiled and nodded.
Indeed, couples like that were common in the Elven Race.
In fact, every couple likely had such a desire.
However, it’s just that conceiving was exceedingly difficult under normal circumstances.
Airael chuckled, “In that case, we can start by addressing their needs. But before that, we need to ensure that we have the medicine for it and can produce it in bulk safely.”
