Chapter 54

Chapter 54. New Update (1)

<General Announcement>

<<New Update Notice>>

<We have determined that there is currently a lack of content for our Commanders to enjoy.>

<In one week, the following new content will be provided.>

<We ask for your continued interest and support, Commanders.>

<<Update Details>>

<Wild Space Monsters will appear.>

<Increased likelihood of Monster Fleet appearances.>

<Alien bases and factions will emerge.>

<The Earth Federation, the nation to which Commanders belong, will make its debut.>

<Each Commander can undertake individual quests.>

<A user trading and auction system will be introduced.>

“Wow.”

“What’s the matter, Commander?”

“It’s just that the update content is richer than I expected.”

“Ah, so you’ve seen the update details.”

After nearly three weeks without updates, the message about the new update arrived for the increasingly restless users.

The announcement included the emergence of ‘factions,’ which alone could excite the users, and there were four types introduced simultaneously.

Along with the introduction of auction houses and trading shops, the diverse update content made me exclaim in admiration.

Moreover, while I had the spectacular and thrilling pirate antics of Marian and the suicidal charges of crazy newbies to keep me entertained, other users must have endured a painfully boring time.

‘Of course, dopamine addicts can’t handle boredom.’

As if to prove my point, I sneaked into the gallery to check, and sure enough…

-[If this is the best game company, I’ll upvote.](56)

-[From now on, the entire gallery will perform the three bows and nine kowtows to the developers.](14)

-[Losing faith is akin to death…!](19)

-[Just one more day until the update!](46)

-[Haha, now there’s so much to do lolololololol](17)

-[Let’s gooooooooooooooo](15)

-[The developers are finally working.jpg](35)

Just yesterday, the gallery users were half-dead, but upon seeing the event message—no, the announcement—they all went wild, passionately discussing the update regardless of whether they were veterans or newbies.

And as always, the game’s ghosts and veterans were there, replacing the now-inaccessible wiki by sharing all sorts of information.

Title: This update seems pretty insane?

Author: Eeeeeeeelloooooo

Content: [Screenshot of the update notice]

As the veterans probably already know, the current update features things that never appeared all at once in the original game.

Each of these is essentially a major update by the game’s standards, and they’re releasing them all at once?

These guys made us go through a six-month forced tutorial with pirates to level up the users, and now they’re pushing out the final update as quickly as possible before we get possessed here.

Comments:

-[This seems legit. Space Monsters, aliens, and the Earth Federation originally appeared one by one through different events.]

-[I knew about Space Monsters, but I didn’t expect aliens to show up too.]

-[But won’t this lead to faction wars among users?]

Title: What’s insane about this update.txt

Author: Marshmallow

Content: You know the factions in this update, right?

Space Monsters, aliens, and the Earth Federation.

Plus, Space Pirates.

From now on, Commanders can choose to join one of these four factions or go solo.

But joining a clan is separate from factions, so you might see clans with members from all four factions, creating total chaos lol.

Comments:

-[Oh, what?]

-[Ooooh!]

-[Are we really going to join a faction we’ve never even seen before?]

-[No, you idiot, we can’t do that yet.]

-˪[Isn’t it this update? I remember it that way.] (Author)

-˪[Nope, each faction has its own event chain, and you have to complete all of them to unlock it.]

-˪[Ah.] (Author)

-˪[Grandpa’s got dementia.]

—————————————-

Although in the process, some veteran grandpas, unlike the “dementia” they jokingly talked about before, seemed to have really caught “dementia,” giving users a good laugh.

—————————————-

Title: Anyway, the important thing is that a huge update is coming.

Author: I am the leader of the Nongnongdan.

Content: So everyone, shut up and gather resources, stock up your fleets.

No joke, you really need to stock up.

The pirates were defeated this time, and the “Pirate Empress” is still intact, so it’s less of a concern.

But with space monsters, aliens, and the Earth Federation coming, we won’t have a dull moment from then on.

Comments:

-[Exciting!]

-[War, never again war.]

-[But can you give us a rough idea of how much we need to save?]

-˪[No matter how much you’ve saved, you need at least double that.] (Author)

-˪[Crystal clear.]

-˪[The author is like Solomon.]

—————————————-

Title: It’s time for solo players to start grouping up.

Author: Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon.

Content: [Alien Extermination Poster(?)]

If you’re going to complain about how I play, just leave.

The reason I’m saying this is because the number of factions that will attack users is increasing to four, making it really hard to defend alone.

If you’re part of a faction, at least you won’t be attacked by that faction’s fleet.

If you remain neutral and don’t join any faction, then if you’re unlucky,

pirates will invade in the morning, and after fending them off,

space monsters will attack before lunch,

and just as you’re about to eat dinner, aliens will warp in,

and after tearing through the aliens, when it’s time to sleep, the Earth Federation’s inspection fleet will come to check if you’re doing well and attack.

To be precise, we are base commanders dispatched by the Earth Federation in the setting,

but since we didn’t swear loyalty to the Federation, they attack us for messing around.

If you’re in a clan and the clan leader is affiliated with a specific faction,

then as long as you’re in the clan, you won’t be preemptively attacked by that faction.

Comments:

-[Why are you forcing people to group up like this?]

-[Losers won’t even be able to play the game and will just die off.]

-[Only the popular kids get to be happy in this dirty world.]

-[Surely they can’t be that bad.]

—————————————-

Due to the lack of a well-organized wiki, veterans are showing off their knowledge and trying their hardest to pass on tips to newbies.

But even in such a lively gallery, there are always those who face reality.

—————————————-

Title: But what do we do now?

Author: Chimpanzee.

Content: [Orangutan scratching its head.]

I get that the update is amazing.

But why is no one mentioning that the update is coming in a week?

Until that awesome event comes, isn’t it just the usual pre-update period?

But the reactions make it seem like the update has already happened, which is really weird.

Comments:

-[Accept it, it’s easier if you give up.]

-[Let it be, if they’re enjoying it, isn’t that a good thing?]

-[…Hmm.]

—————————————-

For those already blinded by the update, such realistic talk doesn’t get through at all.

Seeing this, I closed the gallery window and started to piece together my thoughts again.
