Chapter 60: The Return of the Queen
“Ailia, it’s the Dark Elf pirates!”
Upon noticing Airael stepping out, Hank’s expression turned grave.
Hearing this, both Airael and Celia couldn’t help but exchange glances.
Dark Elves, who would have thought they’d run into them again?
Just hope Mork isn’t on this ship!
Upon learning it was the Dark Elf pirates, a middle-aged man nearly panicked: “Lady Ailia, Captain Hank, you must defeat those vile pirates!”
Hank comforted, “Mr. Hock, you shouldn’t worry too much. Even if they are Dark Elves, there’s only one ship ahead. I doubt there are any major figures aboard.”
After saying this, Hank turned his gaze toward Airael.
The outcome of this battle depended on Airael.
After all, even with limited strength among the crew, a Mage was still a Mage.
So whether they could win would rely on Airael.
“Captain Hank, do you know about the Dark Elf pirates? How are their crews organized?”
“This ship here is a medium warship among the Dark Elf pirates, primarily crewed by slaves, about a hundred in number.”
“So, there wouldn’t be many Dark Elves on board.”
“Exactly!”
Hank nodded, “But those Dark Elves are quite strong. They manage the slaves, so if one doesn’t have certain strength, they can’t subdue them.”
After pondering for a moment, Airael proposed a battle plan: “Captain Hank, if those slaves come to the cargo ship, leave it to you. We’ll deal with the Dark Elves. Just make sure you’re not defeated before we return.”
“If it’s just handling those slaves, we are totally fine.”
“Great! Then let’s stop the ship.”
Airael said with a smile.
“Stop the ship?”
Captain Hock looked rather unwilling.
“Of course! What do you think, you can just sail away?”
Airael rolled her eyes internally.
This is a cargo ship full of goods! What do you think you can match in terms of speed?
Being caught up is only a matter of time.
Since that’s the case, it’s better to eliminate this hassle quickly.
The cargo ship came to a halt, and everyone on board was poised for action.
The Dark Elf pirate ship was still rapidly approaching.
On the bow of the pirate ship stood a group of Dark Elves, behind them were the slaves under their control.
Looking at the stopped human cargo ship, the Dark Elf captain wore a smug smile, “Have these humans given up resisting? Well, since they’re so self-aware, let’s make sure they suffer less during the screaming part.”
But before they could leap onto the human cargo ship, three figures leapt high and landed on their ship.
“Are you the captain of this pirate ship?”
Airael asked the leading Dark Elf.
“That’s right, and who are you?”
The Dark Elf’s expression turned serious.
The aura radiating from Airael and her companions was nearly suffocating.
Keep in mind, he was a high-tier warrior.
“How about doing me a favor and retreat? I’m familiar with your boss, Mork, and I’d rather not get our relations strained.”
Airael continued, completely ignoring the Dark Elf’s earlier question.
As her words settled, Celia and Aurora casually adjusted their hoods, revealing their hidden pointed ears.
The Dark Elf captain recognized those familiar ears, and combined with Airael’s words, he filled in the blanks in his mind.
Regardless of the situation, these three of his kind were not ones he could offend.
“Alright!”
Airael smiled, “You made a very wise choice. If possible, send my regards to your boss.”
With that, Airael and her companions turned and jumped back to the cargo ship.
“Retreat!”
As the three left, the Dark Elf pirates quickly turned around and sailed away.
“Lady Ailia, what just happened? What did you do?”
Hank and the others were left in utter confusion, completely clueless about what had transpired.
“I just had a nice chat with the Dark Elves and persuaded them to back off. Isn’t it great to avoid a bloodshed?”
Airael said as she headed towards the ship’s cabin.
“Captain Hank?”
After Airael departed, Captain Hock turned his gaze to Hank.
Such a turn of events had taken everyone by surprise.
Hank looked at the retreating Dark Elf pirate ship and said, “Captain Hock, the pirates are gone. Let’s continue sailing!”
He thought for a moment and realized Airael was right.
Although they mercenaries were used to a life filled with blood, it was always better to avoid conflict if possible.
Fearless of death doesn’t mean they wanted to die.
“Alright, let’s set sail!”
The cargo ship resumed its journey across the sea.
Meanwhile, the retreating pirate ship no longer continued its previous looting but took down their pirate flag and headed for a specific sea area.
After sailing for several days at sea, Airael and her crew finally reached their destination, the only open area of the Elven Race—Menas City.
“Lady Ailia, we’ve arrived.”
Before reaching the port, Hank approached Airael personally.
“Well, it seems we will be parting ways now, Captain Hank.”
“Yes!”
Hank nodded.
He had no sorrow about this.
He clearly understood that he and Airael were from completely different worlds.
The moment they stepped onto Menas City—or Avalon—Airael felt something was different.
But she couldn’t quite pinpoint what was unusual.
With a heart full of longing, Airael didn’t overthink it.
After parting with Hank and the others, Airael didn’t linger in Menas City and headed straight for the Elven Royal City.
Walking in the fields of Avalon, Airael took a deep breath, feeling a sense of refreshing clarity, her strength inexplicably advancing.
“Your Majesty!”
Noticing Airael’s unusual demeanor, both Celia and Aurora looked quite worried.
“I’m fine.”
Airael motioned for them to calm down.
Then she paused, continuing to immerse herself in that strange sensation.
Just a moment ago, it felt like she was merging with all of Avalon.
Her increasing abilities seemed tied to this.
This was something Airael hadn’t anticipated.
However, beyond that, she couldn’t discern what was happening.
For instance, why she felt that way just now?
Meanwhile, in the Life Temple of the Elven Royal City and the Treeman Forest.
Grand Priestess Linis and Elder Iiscate wore smiles on their faces.
Just now, perhaps others did not notice, but they were well aware.
The Queen of the Elves has returned!
