Chapter 663: Recollection and Departure
Early in the morning, Lolan Hill slowly woke up from her dream.
Last night, she had another long dream. Perhaps due to her recent promotion to Sequence 3, she recalled some past events, which seemed to be from her days at Emanas.
There, she met many peers her age, and familiar faces and names returned to her mind.
Alena, Nia, Letis, Bumansa, Vimya, Lily, and that girl from the East, Ye Ling.
It seemed she learned quite a bit during her time at Emanas. Compared to where she currently was, Emanas was rich in books, including many descriptions of the Eastern Dragon Continent, brought by students and travelers from the East.
She wondered if Ye Ling, that child, has returned to the Eastern Dragon Continent. It would be nice to visit her if she could find out where she lived.
She didn’t know if Ye Ling had grown up or perhaps even gotten married, considering the traditional customs in this region.
Lolan Hill sat on the edge of the bed, reminiscing about her life at Emanas. Unfortunately, her memories only went as far as the end of her first year. To recall more, she would need to advance further.
Recalling the map she saw at Emanas, she couldn’t help but marvel at the complexity and vastness of the Eastern Dragon Continent.
Its shape somewhat resembled a vague ‘P’, with a massive inland sea in the east, known as the Yellow Sea. At the center of the Yellow Sea stood a towering mountain, reaching into the clouds, like a fairyland. Legend had it that immortals resided there, and it was once the abode of the Seven Phoenix True Flame Lord.
That witch, the phoenix, raised five disciples on the mountain, who later became the Five Virtuous Birds.
Some scholars even speculated that the Five Virtuous Birds were actually five witches.
As the images faded from her memory, Lolan Hill rubbed her eyes and slowly got up from the bed. She looked at the light green-patterned white quilt in front of her. The wooden headboard behind her was intricately carved with vine patterns, exuding a distinct elven aura.
Now, she was not staying in an inn but in an elven dwelling where Aitexi lived. Surrounding houses were inhabited by forest elves.
After parting ways with Yu Baiqiu a while ago, she moved here at Aitexi’s invitation.
“Miss Loran, feel free to come to Black Stingray Port in Nanfengzhou if you need anything.”
Since Lolan Hill had already decided on which faction to join, and the representative of that faction required her to travel alone, Yu Baiqiu found it inappropriate to continue accompanying her.
Considering Yu Baiqiu had his own affairs, Lolan Hill did not want to delay him any longer, so they parted ways.
The next time she visits Nanfengzhou might be years later, she thought as a young lady.
After moving to Aitexi’s place, it took her a week to gradually advance to Nature Sequence 3, becoming a fledgling bird, gaining basic self-defense capabilities outside.
Now, it was time to set off. After all, Chi Wu said she needed to arrive before the winter solstice.
After getting dressed and tidying her hair and dress, she descended the stairs.
On the first floor, Aitexi was sitting at the table eating breakfast, which appeared to be porridge.
“Little Lacy, come eat something. This is lotus seed pear porridge I made this morning,” she said, waving her arm.
This elven princess seemed well-adapted to life in the East, finding inspiration in vegetarian dishes of Eastern cuisine.
“Okay,” Lolan Hill walked over and sat down at the table. Aitexi then used a spoon to scoop some cooled porridge into her bowl.
“It’s cooled down a bit. It’s still summer, so it’s more comfortable to eat something cool.”
“Thank you,” Lolan Hill picked up the spoon and sipped the porridge, which had a mild sweetness.
“How is it? Not bad, right?” Aitexi smiled happily as Lolan Hill drank the porridge.
Being taken care of often, she suddenly had a compliant younger sister, which indeed made her happy, giving her a rare feeling of being an older sister.
After drinking some porridge, Lolan Hill remembered her main task.
“I will probably leave today.”
“Oh, so soon?” Aitexi looked at the cute young lady in front of her, feeling reluctant.
“Yes, Sister Aitexi,” Lolan Hill replied to the elven lady.
“Hmm. What?” A glint flashed in Aitexi’s eyes.
“Probably leaving today,” Lolan Hill tilted her head, puzzled.
“No, just now that sentence,” Aitexi repeated.
“Just now, Sister Aitexi,” Lolan Hill guessed.
“That’s right, that’s right, say it again,” Aitexi’s eyes shone.
“Um… Sister Aitexi,” Lolan Hill lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“Woah, great!” Aitexi gave a thumbs-up.
After enjoying some time with Lolan Hill, Aitexi finally remembered to help pack and prepare her things.
She led Lolan Hill to find Erin and the housekeeper, listing everything they needed. It took them a considerable amount of time to get everything ready.
Inside the room.
“Um, this really doesn’t need to be so much, it’s too troublesome to carry,” Lolan Hill waved her hand, looking at the large bundle of items, feeling helpless.
“You definitely need this much, Little Lacy,” Aitexi insisted.
“Look, these are clothes to change into on the way. A girl can’t wear the same thing every day, right?”
“These are two sets of bed sheets and quilts packed together. You never know if the inns along the way are clean, so better sleep on the ones I prepared. Also, there are towels and bath essences for the journey,” Aitexi explained, emphasizing the necessity of each item.
“But, there are so many things, I can’t carry them all,” Lolan Hill expressed her physical weakness, unable to carry too much.
“You could hire a few more carts,” Aitexi continued.
“But…” Lolan Hill had to explain the long journey, crossing mountains and valleys.
After a while, Aitexi reluctantly put her hand down. “If only I had some spatial storage items. Unfortunately, the few I have are in the Emerald Forest.”
“Spatial items?” Lolan Hill couldn’t help but recall the ring she made according to the system blueprint in the past.
While the blueprint still existed, gathering the materials was troublesome. It seemed she would need to consider how to make money in the future.
After Erin and Lolan Hill streamlined the list, Aitexi managed to prepare Lolan Hill’s travel supplies into a small suitcase.
The suitcase was made of wicker wood, lined with a waterproof soft white bark, not too heavy, easy for the young lady to carry. Inside were several clothes, a blanket, and a few small toiletries.
“This should be enough,” Erin said after arranging everything, asking Lolan Hill to try lifting it.
“It’s fine, not too heavy,” Lolan Hill blinked, using wind to slightly lift it, reducing the weight, not tiring herself.
“Good enough,” Erin nodded, her icy blue hair falling over her shoulders, her demeanor truly like a big sister, different from Aitexi.
“Alright,” Aitexi nodded slightly, lowering her pouted lips, then took out a sun hat from behind and placed it on Lolan Hill’s head.
“Put this on too. It’s sunny outside, don’t get tanned.”
“Okay,” Lolan Hill lifted the wicker box with one hand and adjusted the hat with the other, nodding in gratitude.
“I’ve been a burden to everyone,” the young lady thought, having received much care.
“It’s nothing, let’s go, Lacy. I’ll visit you in Huilu Continent in a couple of years,” Aitexi waved.
“Alright, then I’m off. See you later~” Lolan Hill waved goodbye, boarding the carriage prepared by the roadside, heading towards the distant horizon.
In the blazing month of July, this young lady embarked on her journey once again in a foreign land.
At the end of the month, I will write a chapter of bonus content to thank everyone for their support.
I’ll talk about some interesting past daily life. I’m not sure which time period you prefer—living alone in the forest, spending time with friends in school, playing at the seaside, or something else.
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments at the end of this chapter. We’ll see which time period gets the most likes.
