Chapter 356: The Necromancer Club
In the Temple Academy, there stood the Black Moon Hall.
The main structure of this hall was built with gray stone bricks, while the corners, edges, and window sills were made of protruding white stone bricks. The roof was uniformly covered with black tiles, making it quite aesthetically pleasing. On the large door of the hall, there was a light purple crescent moon decoration, lying horizontally with a curtain-like pattern hanging down, giving it an air of mystery.
Although it had just passed noon, the main path inside the hall was very quiet. Walking in, one could feel a cool breeze flowing through the grand hall and the main path.
Sesina walked ahead, wearing a black wizard’s robe with deep purple decorations at the edges. Her graceful figure was accentuated by a purple cloth belt. Lolan Hill followed behind, dressed in a black wizard’s robe that was much more elegant. The collar and cuffs of her robe were adorned with feather designs, and her back featured a crescent moon pattern entwined with vines.
“Lohil, don’t worry. The Phosphorescent Flowers you wanted will be ready in a few days. In the meantime, help me handle some matters around the academy,” Sesina said, holding a slender staff. At the end of the staff was a construction similar to a street lamp, with black patterns enveloping a purple gemstone in the middle, giving it an ancient and mysterious aura.
Lolan Hill, following behind, could only agree.
“Hehe, don’t look so worried. You might even enjoy this job later on.”
“Then can senior sister finally get some rest?” Lolan Hill imitated Ye Ling, using a naive tone.
“This is to give new members a chance to learn and grow, isn’t it?” the senior replied with a smile, not minding the girl revealing her thoughts.
Their footsteps echoed clearly in the empty hall. Finally, they stopped in front of a black door, adorned with patterns of skulls and swords, giving it a solemn atmosphere.
“You need to be on your guard now. It’s best to have a fierce gaze,” the senior reminded. Lolan Hill widened her eyes out of curiosity.
The staff leaned against the door, and light flowed across it, spreading along the patterns on the door. Then, the stone door slid open to both sides, revealing the scene inside.
The dark interior was hard to discern, but a few purple glows appeared. Inside were figures dressed in black robes, their faces hidden under hoods and masks, leaving only their eyes visible.
As the door opened, the figures in the darkness turned their gazes towards the two, staring at them in unison. The scene was eerily reminiscent of an evil cult gathering, bordering on something out of a horror movie.
Immediately after, Sesina’s staff emitted a brilliant light, flooding the room and causing screams to erupt like boiling water.
“Ahh, my eyes!”
“Ouch, no!”
“Don’t! My carefully constructed eight-legged skeletal ballista!”
“I’m sorry, Big Sister Sesina, please stop the spell!”
After a moment, Sesina put down her staff and spoke.
“I’ve told you many times, remember to turn on the lights when you’re doing research. Otherwise, you’ll really scare people, affecting our academy’s reputation!”
“Yes, understood,” the people responded in small groups.
“Understood.”
“This is inside the academy’s experimental area. Who would come here? Why so serious?”
“Elro~” Sesina squinted her eyes at this student.
“Do you have any objections?”
“No, Senior Sister Sesina has always been our role model, the most beautiful and elegant head of the Temple Academy!”
Elro stood at attention, his voice resolute, making it hard to believe he was the same person who had just complained.
“Good.” Sesina nodded in satisfaction, then turned to look at Lolan Hill beside her.
The silver-haired girl looked at the twenty-odd students in the hall, slightly surprised. Although they seemed a bit eccentric, each was genuinely a Necromancer Sequence 6, capable of being formidable forces outside.
“Elro, come here,” Sesina commanded without turning her head.
“Yes!” The boy walked over. He had messy black hair and a baby face, wearing a long robe in light green and purple, with a cracked skull badge on his chest, setting him apart.
“Introduce your club to this junior.”
“Huh? Me?”
Though older, Elro wasn’t much older, around seventeen, and of average height.
“Yes,” Sesina glanced at her light purple starry nail polish and continued.
“Alright.”
“Seems like you’re reluctant.”
“No, just busy with studies.”
“Busy with studies? Repeat that.”
Sesina’s tone was filled with doubt, her phoenix eyes glancing at the mischievous student.
“Uh, we have a lot of experimental projects.”
“Heh, the funding for the second half of the year…”
“I understand, Senior Sister Sesina. I’m free now and very willing to help this excellent junior understand the club’s affairs.”
“That’s good. Lohil, follow him first. If you don’t understand, ask.”
“Yes, Senior Sister Sesina.” Then the girl watched Sesina walk to another sofa, seemingly preparing to rest. She tilted her head in resignation and turned to the boy named Elro.
“Hello, I’m Lohil.” The girl lifted her skirt and bowed slightly before looking up at the somewhat stunned boy.
“Uh, hello, Lohil. I’m Elro, just call me by name.” The boy quickly turned his head away, unable to bear looking at this flawless beauty.
Elro’s heart raced. He was not only surprised by her appearance but also by her pure soul. The purity of her soul shocked him, akin to seeing an angel.
He wasn’t meeting her for the first time; he had seen her once before in the academy. But he had urgent matters then and didn’t use his special talent to observe her. Today, he realized what the ghostly old man had said was true—this seemingly fragile and shy girl was probably a celestial being, beyond his reach.
Lolan Hill, puzzled, looked at the boy, blinking. Meanwhile, other members in the hall focused their gazes on her face, making her feel uncomfortable. She turned her head away, not pursuing his strange reaction, and said:
“Then I’ll trouble Senior Elro.”
“No problem, just call me Elro.” The boy feared he might lose years of life.
