Chapter 205: Another Battlefield

The underground battlefield, Aisaya versus Letis.

The thick hardwood longsword felt somewhat heavy in his hand. The handle had been polished for better grip, with shallow grooves to prevent slipping due to sweat.

In contrast, the blade was quite rough, showing signs of hacking and chopping. The coarse wooden fibers made it uneven to the touch, and though it wasn’t sharpened, striking someone would still cause considerable pain.

Aisaya held the sword, adjusting his breathing as he watched Letis. Once the referee gave the signal, he charged at her with speed.

The heavy sword cut through the air, whistling loudly in the empty basement.

Before he could get close to Letis, several invisible wind scythes rushed towards him.

Crack—Crack—

Sharp sounds exploded in the air as the longsword sliced through the compressed wind scythes, like bursting a full balloon, causing chaotic air currents to scatter and lifting wood fibers and splinters off the blade.

Both Aisaya and Letis were around Sequence 4. If Lolan Hill were to observe using the system, she might rate them as [Rare Silver].

Reaching such strength at this age was considered rare talent and within the realm of public acceptance.

Lolan Hill had previously encountered several geniuses among the freshmen, mostly between Sequence 3 and 4. Aloy and the short-sleeved youth were both Sequence 4 but with exceptional talents, their true combat power comparable to Sequence 5. The system had rated them as [Excellent Gold].

For Fulang, also Sequence 4, the system evaluated her as [Superior Gold], although this was only because her extraordinary path focused on late development. In a few years, when she reaches Sequence 6, Aloy probably won’t be able to beat her.

The battle continued inside, albeit not as intense as before, yet both parties were giving their all.

The massive sword, carrying a magnetic field, swiped away Letis’ magic wind blades, directly hitting her shoulder and then being repelled by explosive pressure.

Using the dispersing airflow, Letis created distance from Aisaya, inadvertently retreating to the corner.

The cold stone wall felt very rough, like it had been hit by many pebbles. Leaning against the wall, Letis panted heavily, golden hair scattered over her shoulders, her pale chest rising and falling. Fortunately, it was dark here underground, with no spectators, and her opponent was a merciless scoring machine, completely indifferent to her beauty.

After all, her own sister was a famous beauty, and after spending much time together, she had built up strong resistance.

“Give up, I don’t want to fight girls.”

Though she said this, Aisaya’s sword did not hesitate, swinging fiercely and pushing Letis further into the corner.

Letis always considered herself a well-bred lady, rarely cursing. But now, in anger, she wanted to swear, sending another spiraling wind blade from the side, its trajectory forming a semicircle.

After several exchanges, Letis learned her lesson. Straight wind scythes were too straightforward and easy to block or deflect; spiraling wind blades were more effective.

Unfortunately, her opponent was faster.

Aisaya stomped his right foot, shaking the surrounding pebbles and dust. His body shot out like a hunting leopard, not giving Letis time to adjust her wind blade angle. The greatsword, carrying immense force, struck down like a hammer, breaking through the wind shield in front of her and then turning the blade to strike her chest with the back of the sword.

The heavy wooden sword slammed Letis into the stone wall behind her, causing severe pain in her shoulder and back. She slid down slowly, her sweat-soaked back pressed against the cold stone, feeling a chill and then intense pain throughout her body.

“82nd wins, the match ends,” announced the referee from above.

“Sorry, I didn’t control my strength.”

Aisaya realized he might have gone too far, feeling guilty as he squatted down to comfort the defeated lady.

Snap—

A clear sound echoed in the basement, and a red palm print appeared on the youth’s face.

“Get lost!”

Just one word expressed the girl’s indignation.

“Sorry, I really didn’t mean it.”

“Get lost!”

The girl began to sob lightly.

Aisaya finally panicked, and the basement was filled with apologies and curses. Letis felt she had never said so many dirty words in her life.

Another underground battlefield, Aloy versus Bumansa.

Swinging the long giant hammer, Aloy felt the pulse of the earth, her abundant mana flowing within her, making her feel even stronger.

“Can this big sister surrender? Aloy’s hammer hurts a lot,” Aloy said in a cute voice.

After saying that, she looked at her opponent, who was dressed simply, exuding no aura, like a neighbor girl fresh out of baking bread, lacking any intimidation but instead appearing rather approachable. It was hard to believe how she made it to the final round of the group stage, especially since this was a crucial promotion match.

“This… I’m sorry, I want to try my limits,” Bumansa said with some distress.

“I can’t give up yet.”

After saying this, she waved the wooden rod in her hand, looking like she was holding a broom for cleaning, then the referee announced the start of the match.

“Well, there’s no other choice. But Aloy will save some energy, big sister doesn’t need to worry.”

Wearing a black-and-white polka-dot dress, Aloy charged forward, planning to seize her opponent’s weapon and pin her down, forcing her to concede defeat.

But before she could get close, a crack came from behind, the wooden rod striking her body, causing her to stagger and nearly lose balance. Meanwhile, Bumansa had somehow disappeared and reappeared behind her.

“How is this possible?” Aloy exclaimed, then swung the giant hammer back to hit her opponent behind her.

Pain.

Pain shot through her wrist, causing her hand to go limp, and the giant hammer was knocked into the air. There was a dull thud as it landed far away, and the wooden rod of the hammer fell and bounced a few times, emitting a reverberating sound.

With nothing in her hands, Aloy prepared to launch a rock spike, but the ground began to shake again. This time, her opponent didn’t give her any chance.

The wooden rod struck her chest with a muffled sound. Her usually impenetrable protective golden light seemed useless against the small wooden rod. A stifled breath caught in her throat, Aloy widened her eyes, but Bumansa’s figure vanished from her sight. Then, two knocks hit her calves, causing her legs to bend and almost make her kneel.

Finally, a sharp sound hit the back of her head, causing her to lose consciousness and fall to the floor.

“385th wins, the match ends.”

Thus, the exceptionally talented Aloy failed to enter the top sixteen.
