Chapter 175 Life Game (Part Two)

“Night Spirit, you’re awake.”

Vimya greeted the girl with dual ponytails of beige hair. Then, Bumansa introduced this roommate to Lolan Hill.

Night Spirit comes from the Eastern Continent. Her father is from the Eastern Continent, while her mother is from the Western Continent. She now studies at Emanas in the West Continent. She doesn’t talk much, but she’s very well-behaved.

The girl nodded slightly at the remaining new faces in the room and said, “Hello everyone,” before falling silent.

At this point, Alena, Nia, and Lily had already gone out to chase a cat. The few people left in the room couldn’t start the game, so they temporarily paused it. Bumansa said she would warm up some pastries baked in the afternoon, leaving Lolan Hill, Letis, Vimya, and Night Spirit to converse.

Although Letis could argue with Alena quite well, she was unsure how to begin speaking now. Vimya wore a veil, seemingly lost in thought. The girl with the beige hair who just came out quietly knelt on a cushion, looking at the various scattered cards, showing no desire to speak.

Finally, Lolan Hill spoke first, wanting to learn about the situation in the Eastern Continent.

“Hello, my name is Lolan. I come from Clancia.”

Hearing the voice from across, Night Spirit raised her head, looked at the other person, and nodded.

“My name is Night Spirit.” The response was brief.

“Did you grow up in the Eastern Continent?”

“Yes, Elder Sister Lolan.” She tilted her head to look at Lolan Hill, her silver eyes widening slightly.

“Because of my hair color and appearance, I’m often mistaken for someone from the Eastern Continent, but I don’t actually know much about it.”

Lolan Hill explained the reason, feeling a peculiar sensation. She had always interacted with people older than her or her peers, and suddenly being called ‘sister’ made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

“Mm.” Night Spirit nodded and then stood up, returning to the bedroom. After a while, she came back out, holding a stack of books in front of her.

“Here.” She placed around ten books in front of Lolan Hill. The book covers were all square characters, such as “Tracing Light”, “North Sea Journey”, “Chronicles of the Five Phoenix Kingdoms”, “Examination of Dragon and Phoenix Blades”, “Collection of Lolan Lyrics and Music”, “Nine Questions”, “Seven Paths Six Rivers Annotation”, and so on.

“Are these for me to read?” Lolan Hill took the books, and from their titles alone, she could tell that they were all masterpieces.

Night Spirit nodded again and then knelt down. The cuffs of her moon-white Eastern-style blouse were edged in silver, and her hairstyle was more reminiscent of the Western Continent’s twin tails rather than the Eastern Continent’s hairpin style. This blend of styles was not jarring but instead added a unique beauty.

The half-closed door was pushed open, and Alena, Nia, and Lily returned with a flower cat.

“It’s good we didn’t run into another dormitory.”

“But the dorm manager said we have to register tomorrow.”

Alena sighed and then lifted the flower cat high, looking at it as it meowed uneasily.

“Dumb kitty, if you run around like that again, I’ll tie you up with a rope.”

“There will be a pitiful little kitty,” Nia said beside them.

“So don’t make me worry over nothing, silly kitty.”

Alena sat down again with the orange cat cradled in her arms and noticed another person had joined them.

“Oh, Ye Ling is awake,” Lily hurried over and hugged the small girl.

Although Ye Ling didn’t speak, she pushed slightly, trying to break free from Lily’s embrace.

“It’s just for a moment. Ye Ling is too cute~” Lily laughed happily.

Then Bumansa introduced Ye Ling to Nia and Alena. After getting acquainted, the game resumed.

“Where were we?”

“You’ve already forgotten? We reached the part where Lolan was pursued by the prince,” Letis replied with a hint of mockery.

“What was the dice roll?” Lily asked curiously, looking at Bumansa.

Bumansa did not answer immediately but looked at Lolan Hill. “I found the dice. Should Lolan re-roll or use the number I found?”

“Let’s re-roll,” Lolan replied.

“Alright.”

The dice spun and rolled once more in a small wooden bowl.

【0】

【0】

“Does this mean Lolan married the prince?” Alena guessed.

“Well, I don’t think that’s how it went,” Letis recalled their previous experiences.

“If the result is 01, it represents the number 1. If it’s 00, it doesn’t represent zero but the maximum value, 100.”

Bumansa explained the rules of the game. With only two ten-sided dice, each face numbered 0-9, they naturally replaced 00 with 100 to express numbers from 1 to 100.

“So, Lolan rolled a 100, so she doesn’t have to marry the prince, right?” Nia asked somewhat happily.

“Yes.”

“Why are the rules like this? It would be so much simpler if it meant zero. I was even imagining Lolan becoming queen and helping me out,” Alena said softly, propping up her chin.

Then the game continued. As the rounds progressed, Letis opened more shops, constantly developing new products to earn money and then using her vast wealth to buy more land.

Though Alena failed to cultivate the leopard, her cultivation of the Sequence 2 Black Mountain Pig was a great success. Now she had hundreds of these pigs under her command, with the highest overall combat power.

Vimya, on the other hand, continued to perform as a songstress across various locations, gradually gaining fame. Eventually, she advanced to become the Ocean Sequence 5 Ocean Songstress, with a very high reputation.

Nia continued her battles, expanding her territory, seemingly aiming to establish a nation of beasts on the grasslands.

Lolan Hill built schools on the squares she passed through (with a certain chance of producing heroes), slowly collecting hero cards.

Lily persisted in using all sorts of tactics to pursue the prince, but progress was slow.

“The dice result is 【19】, the judgment fails. The prince ignores you and is not moved,”

“Wu, even though my character’s charm isn’t low, why does the prince always seem to overlook me.”

Lily lay on the mat, knocking unhappily.

“Perhaps it’s due to racial differences? Or maybe cultural reasons,” Vimya guessed softly.

“I don’t want to play anymore.”

“Night Spirit, do you want to play? You can have a turn after me as long as you can marry the prince. I need to go eat something.”

Night Spirit nodded. After receiving the signal, Lily jumped up and ran to the kitchen to sneak some snacks.

“Don’t finish all of it; leave some for everyone as midnight snacks,” Bumansa reminded her helplessly.

“No problem,” came a muffled response.

“Now it’s Night Spirit’s turn to roll the dice.”

Night Spirit rolled the dice and moved forward, landing on the big city square.

“What action would you like to take?” Bumansa asked.

“Bordello,” Night Spirit said succinctly, then pointed out a skill in the rulebook.

“Do you want to learn this?”

Night Spirit nodded.

“Alright, Night Spirit has learned how to seduce,” Bumansa announced.

“No,” Night Spirit shook her head, pointing towards the kitchen. “It’s her.”

“Alright, I understand,” Bumansa revealed a knowing smile.

“Lily has learned how to seduce.”

Only then did Night Spirit nod in satisfaction.

In subsequent rounds, Night Spirit controlled Lily’s character, learning various charm skills, and then met with the king, succeeding in the judgment. She enchanted the old king, becoming his queen and thus the stepmother of the prince. Afterward, she gave birth to a child and used strategies to hasten the old king’s death.

After the king’s passing, Lily suppressed the original prince, putting her own child on the throne and then imprisoning the prince in a large cell, using every means at her disposal.

“The dice result is [52], successful judgment. The prince has been successfully trained by you and becomes your most loyal lover.”

After several rounds, Bumansa and the others watched Night Spirit perform a series of magical operations, finally bringing Lily and the prince together.

“I’m full and a bit sleepy. How did Night Spirit do? Did she marry the prince?”

At this moment, Lily walked out of the kitchen.

“Yes,” the others agreed, but only Night Spirit stood up slightly, though she didn’t speak, she looked like a cute fugitive.

“Really? Let me see.”

Lily ran over happily, followed by a cry of surprise.

“Why? How could this happen? Night Spirit~”

Lily turned around, wanting to grab Night Spirit to give her a good ‘caress’, but by then, Night Spirit had already hidden behind Lolan Hill, revealing only her long twin tails.
