Chapter 30: The Stone Golem is Crushed

Chapter 30: The Stone Golem is Crushed

In the next moment, Mork’s sword sliced through the Stone Golem’s neck without any resistance.

The whole process was as smooth as butter, with no hesitation whatsoever.

As Mork landed on the city wall, the Golem’s head also plopped down beside him, rolling across the surface like a lost marble.

Without its head, the Stone Golem didn’t shatter into a heap of rubble like before; it simply stood frozen, motionless as it lost its command.

Mork frowned, observing this scene that was so different from just a few days ago.

“Ah! It moved!”

Just as Mork was deeply immersed in his thoughts about what to do next, a suddenly startled Orc exclaimed beside him.

Following the sound, Mork glanced over to see the Golem’s head that he had just chopped off floating in mid-air, heading straight back towards the body.

After a moment’s thought, Mork understood the implication.

“Not on my watch!”

He shouted, dashing toward the flying Golem’s head.

Though the head was trying its hardest to return, Mork was still a step quicker.

Before it could reattach, he swung his sword down and split the head in two.

As the severed pieces fell, they disintegrated into tiny pebbles scattered on the ground.

Seeing this, Mork let out a sigh of relief.

He then turned his gaze to the Golem’s body.

But in his vision, the Golem still stood atop the city wall, unaffected and uncollapsing like its head.

This was not normal!

Mork immediately sensed something was off.

Darn humans, when did they develop such tricky magic?

Grumbling internally, Mork decided to treat this battle with utmost caution.

Not far away, Andrew, who had quietly climbed the city wall, wore a smile.

Then, to Mork’s surprise, eyes sprouted from the Golem’s body, precisely positioned where its chest would be!

With the new eyes, the Golem sprang back into action.

“Eyes, huh?”

Mork’s gaze fixated on the newly grown eyes of the Golem.

Before the Golem could strike, he initiated his own attack, targeting one of the Golem’s eyes.

This time, the Golem was prepared. As Mork charged in, it retaliated with a powerful right punch.

Knowing just how strong the Golem’s fists were, Mork had no choice but to dodge.

But just after the right punch, came the left!

Mork evaded once again.

Right, left, right, left…

The Golem unleashed a flurry of punches, and Mork couldn’t find an opportunity to close in.

However, he wasn’t taking any damage.

Although the Golem was attacking, its blows were more of a proactive defense.

The aim was to force Mork into defense, allowing it to remain safe.

After a few rounds of this, Mork started to catch on to the Golem’s rhythm.

In the next round of attacks, he dodged the Golem’s right punch and, when the left fist came down, he leaped high.

His jump perfectly avoided the left punch.

Without wasting time, he needed to quickly counterattack—there was only a brief moment to strike.

In that fleeting second, he adjusted his stance and charged towards the exposed opening of the Stone Golem.

Facing the rapidly approaching Mork, the Golem’s new eyes could only widen in horror, utterly powerless to stop him.

Then, Mork plunged his sword deep into the Golem’s right eye.

He hung on for dear life!

With one eye impaled, the Golem seemed to go berserk, emitting a muffled roar.

But where did it come from?

After all, it had just regenerated eyes and didn’t possess a mouth!

The Golem retracted its fists quickly, as if trying to hug Mork with deadly intent.

Still clinging to the Golem, Mork stared at the imminent danger, held his breath, and kicked off the Golem’s chest, thrusting his sword deep again.

Then, harnessing the momentum from the thrust, he spun to aim at the Golem’s other eye and struck again!

With both eyes destroyed, the Golem’s movements abruptly halted.

Its massive hands were now just a meter away from him.

Mork sighed in relief.

Yet he didn’t stop there.

He pulled his sword from the Golem’s left eye, pushed off again, and jumped higher, aiming to stab right into its heart.

As he thrust downward with all his might, the Golem’s body cracked, revealing shimmering magical runes within those fissures.

Mork glanced quickly before turning his gaze away, then yanked his sword free and leaped back, landing safely on the ground.

The next instant, the enormous body of the Stone Golem crumbled into a heap of debris.

The Orcs and Dark Elves roared in ecstatic cheers: “Mork! Mork! Mork!…”

They chanted his name with fervor.

Though it sounded disrespectful, it was a badge of honor.

This represented Mork’s significant achievement in battle.

Smiling amidst the joyous cries, Mork clearly reveled in the spotlight.

Meanwhile, Andrew, hidden in the crowd, wore a sour expression.

He hadn’t expected Mork to dispose of his magical servant so swiftly.

Was there truly no one interfering?

He quickly deduced a conclusion.

He had to admit, although Airael and her allies were somewhat weaker, they indeed posed a considerable distraction for Mork.

Especially Airael’s magic; its potency was remarkable.

Though he recognized where he went wrong, Andrew could only concede in silence now.

He knew there was no stopping Mork in this situation.

His gaze shifted to another area not far away.

There, Airael and her team had carved a significant path on the city wall.

Thanks to the diversion created by the human armies drawing away a wave of Orcs and Dark Elves’ main forces, they faced minimal resistance. Plus, Arthur’s legion had included a wealth of skilled fighters.

Among them were assassins lurking in the shadows—truly the enemy’s nightmare.

They seemed to be everywhere, lurking in the dark, waiting for the slightest opening to strike and claim your life.

Should one strike fail, they would instantly retreat, biding their time for another opportunity.

Last time, Airael nearly fell victim to one of their assassins.

But now, due to the shift in battle, Airael and her squad paused, all eyes casting over to this unfolding scene.
