Chapter 52

“The outbreak has begun!”

Shax stood up and ran directly towards the door. At that moment, the study door was pushed open violently.

Who?

The shadow behind Shax rippled, ready to emerge at any moment!

The door opened, and Aivana appeared at the entrance. She slammed the door shut behind her, reached into her waist pouch, and took out a translucent blue gemstone. With a flick of her wrist, she smashed it into the wooden door.

Faint blue patterns rapidly spread across the door. Soon, the translucent blue patterns covered the entire large study from corner to corner.

“He really came to kill me!” Aivana panted slightly, looking toward Shax and quickly said, “The ‘Crown Guard’ should be able to kill him. Keep watch at the door; I need to go seek help.”

After saying that, she no longer looked at Shax and instead went straight to the center of the study. From her waist pouch, she took out various bottles and jars. Just by looking at the delicate crystal bottles, one could guess that the materials inside were of considerable value.

Shax’s shadow quickly emerged and stood by the door, while Shax himself was ready to pull out the Lethal Bloody Orchid at any moment.

“What’s happening outside?” Shax asked tersely.

She needed to know more about the situation to better react in reality.

“When I brought the ‘Crown Guard’ in, his expression already started to change. He was highly alert. After only a few words, he began secretly releasing toxic fumes. The ‘Crown Guard’ was affected… I should trust you and let the ‘Crown Guard’ ambush and kill him,” Aivana said as she arranged materials on the ground and began drawing strange symbols.

As Aivana placed each material and mumbled unintelligible words, the symbols in front of her ignited, and the items within them gradually vanished in the blue flames.

Once everything was done, Aivana sighed with relief: “It will take at most five hours before someone arrives with the antidote.”

Bang!

The entire house shook again, and sand and gravel fell from above, causing the kerosene lamps on the walls to flicker.

Hearing the commotion, Aivana frowned deeper, muttering to herself, “The ‘Crown Guard’ hasn’t ended the fight yet… When I came up earlier, Xie Lun’s legs had already been severed…

“At a third-level against a second-level, the advantage should be overwhelming.”

“He drank the potion on June 13th,” Shax stared intently at the wooden door and said, “If he is driven to despair, the potion might consume his sanity, turning him into a third-level ‘Cholera Origin’ without reason.”

Aivana pursed her lips tightly. Now, hearing anything from Shax didn’t surprise her anymore.

She had only met Shax today, and initially, she thought of him as a gentle and beautiful young girl, but within a few hours, he brought shocking intelligence to her.

And after reporting him to the Church, it took only a little over two hours for Shax’s intelligence network to identify the traitor and learn when he drank the potion!

It was as if someone had been following Xie Lun for 24 hours, watching him drink the potion!

He actually drank the potion in advance… That’s dangerous.

If he truly became a third-level madman, the specialized defense ‘Crown Guard’ might not be able to stop him.

“The ‘Crown Guard’ can forcibly take me away, but at least half of the Jazz Bridge District would be engulfed in a deadly plague.

Those living here would be in grave danger.

Most of them were nobles and merchants without any extraordinary powers. If “Cholera Origin” were to wreak havoc here, countless influential figures would surely perish, causing a significant tremor in An Su. Even the Rossul Family wouldn’t be able to completely extricate themselves from this situation.

Aivana took a deep breath, then reached out and lifted her skirt, revealing the black thigh binder with miniature syringes and vials arranged on it.

She pulled out several vials, uncorked them, and drank their contents directly. Then she withdrew a miniature syringe and injected it into her heart, slowly pushing the emerald-green liquid inside into her heart.

“What are you doing?” Xia’er heard the commotion behind her. When she turned around, Aivana was already pale-lipped with cold sweat dripping down her face.

The dark purple pupils in Aivana’s eyes flickered with specks of starlight, and the ends of her jet-black hair began to turn white.

“Come, Miss Xia’er,” Aivana grabbed Xia’er’s arm and pulled her to the bedside. She reached out and pushed open the window. “You should jump down from here and run… Thank you for your intelligence, but I won’t be able to repay this favor.”

“And what about you?” Xia’er asked.

“I need to help,” Aivana looked towards the door. She could no longer maintain her composure; the pain in her body caused her facial muscles to twitch, and blood trickled from her eyes. “We can’t let ‘Cholera Origin’ leave this manor.”

Bang!

The manor trembled slightly again. Aivana dashed toward the study door. At this moment, she heard footsteps behind her.

“Miss Xia’er?” Aivana’s hand gripped the doorknob, and she turned to look at Xia’er, her voice trembling with uncertainty.

“I won’t let him leave this manor either,” Xia’er said with a smile, looking at Aivana. “Besides, I still have many stories to tell you.”

Xia’er couldn’t leave here; she had to stay and witness the entire event unfold.

If Aivana and the family guards survived, she would choose to save Aivana’s life in reality.

But if everyone died here and “Cholera Origin” escaped, Xia’er would not hesitate to take her sister and seek refuge in the Salvation Goddess Church.

At this moment, Aivana couldn’t hear Xia’er’s thoughts, but hearing her words made her heart tremble slightly. Xia’er’s figure gradually became clearer in her eyes, dispelling some of the redness before her.

Aivana didn’t say anything more. She abruptly pulled out the rhomboid crystal previously embedded in the wooden door, opening it with a click.

Sssshhh…

The viscous greenish-purple liquid, like a living slime, quickly spread across the floor, the wooden door, the ceiling, and the walls from the study. For a moment, Xia’er felt a suffocating sensation.

Everything outside the door had changed.

The once luxurious corridor was now covered in unknown purple-green slime. The ceiling was filled with gray-purple objects that resembled barnacles, rough and ugly, oozing what appeared to be living slime from their pores.

“Drink it.” Aivana handed Xia’er a vial of the potion.

Xia’er didn’t hesitate and took the vial, drinking its contents in one gulp.

She felt her body becoming restless, but her breathing gradually calmed.

“Go!” Aivana stepped over the pus-covered ground and ran towards the stairs.

Xia’er followed closely behind.
