Chapter 93

A strong and vigorous morning has dawned.

Our Violets woke up and prepared breakfast in their own ways.

The Violets in the dormitory headed to the cafeteria with Daphne, while those living in the Central District visited Kalia’s house to either grab breakfast or toast some bread.

Additionally, there were various options like eating cup noodles or just having cereal.

Having multiple meals at once has several advantages.

One is that you can eat everything you couldn’t due to being full, and another is that you can savor various flavors all at once.

Imagine gulping down chocolate milk, strawberry milk, and banana milk simultaneously. When you only had one body, mixing them would result in a strange taste, but with multiple bodies, you can experience all three flavors at once, creating a bizarre harmony.

Thus, we can say that our Violets are culinary geniuses.

Feeling full and relaxed, my mind started to race again. We comfortably lay down or sat in our places and connected to the Violet Network.

Unit 1 took on the role of moderator and announced the start of the discussion.

“Let’s revisit yesterday’s topic.”

“Got it.”

The Violets began discussing what they saw yesterday.

“First, the person we saw yesterday was Seijis, right? Black hair and a black coat! He’s always like that.”

“He looked kind of gloomy, didn’t he?”

Clone 13 recalled the Scholarship Officer from the main story.

The Scholarship Officer’s gender is either female or male, but according to the setting, it’s said that it’s the male Scholarship Officer who is considered canonical.

In other words, there’s only one Scholarship Officer. I have no idea where Seijis’s twin sister is or what she’s doing. I wonder what Sophie El is up to.

“Maybe she’s at the Inspection Bureau?”

“I heard she used to work as a teacher.”

However, when I imagined the battle from yesterday, it became a bit frightening.

The Scholarship Officer we know was a cheerful character who sometimes acted clumsy. Even when fighting villains, he was more emotional and could get angry.

Yet, the person we saw yesterday was a cold-blooded killing machine devoid of blood and tears. I felt a strong sense of déjà vu.

Clones 39 and 83 continued to share their thoughts.

“Think about it—like a vertical take-off and landing aircraft. That’s what we rode in the original!”

“Don’t you remember the red-haired girl? The one with cat ears. That’s Millia, right?”

I recalled the girl who stomped her feet while saying something to the Scholarship Officer. I can’t believe Millia was also there.

Millia is the mascot character of the Crimson Scholar and the closest colleague of the Scholarship Officer.

Lost in thought, Clone 2 suddenly had an epiphany.

“How about the ability to pull weapons from thin air? When we went to the Novastiyah dungeon, the inventory disappeared, right? It must have been the Scholarship Officer who took it.”

“You’re right, that was a thing!”

The Violets reached a consensus that it indeed must be the Scholarship Officer. The question was, why is the Scholarship Officer who should be active several years in the future moving now?

“Reincarnation. Or is it possession?”

“I vote for reincarnation. If I possessed the Scholarship Officer, I would have cleaned out the Crystal Flowers and potions first. I would have also tried to recruit other students and colleagues.”

“Right, that makes sense.”

When Adela was talking to someone, she seemed to have some thoughts, but I’m curious why she hasn’t reached out to Irene, Daphne, or Kalia.

“Maybe she doesn’t know where they are?”

“She might be busy.”

Eventually, the Violets proceeded with the assumption that ‘the Scholarship Officer = the Reincarnated One’. Given the uniqueness of our existence as ‘Violets’, this was certainly the first thing to discuss.

“What should we do if we meet the Scholarship Officer?”

I started thinking about stories involving time travelers or reincarnators. Revenge, punishment, judgment…

“Uh… Wouldn’t we get in trouble?”

“He might kill us!”

Our reactions were explosive.

Considering the chaos caused by the ‘Infinite Witch’ Violet in Part 1, meeting the Scholarship Officer was more of a dangerous gamble than facing a time-traveling youthful Hitler.

“I know, but wouldn’t it be fine if we explained it well? We’re not that Infinite Witch you know!”

“We also have to explain how we know that.”

This is a devil’s proof issue. How could we prove we wouldn’t go wrong in the future? We would need to explain how we know that too.

In this situation without an answer, one Violet verbalized a rather absurd argument.

“Let’s reveal that we’re the possessed ones.”

“Rejected, they’d surely try to kill us for that.”

As we discussed, we were perplexed about how to converse with the Scholarship Officer. It was a tough issue.

The academy city of Rustroom was filled with villains.

There were cults claiming that monsters and Ether were mankind’s salvation and should be allowed to invade the second dimension, corporations conducting human experiments or engaging in illegal transactions. Just like last time at the cockroach dungeon, clans that pushed non-Awakened ones without fulfilling their own duties. Various secret societies plotting conspiracies.

However, these villains at least had some rational reasons for their misdeeds. They had clear goals of their own.

The Infinite Witch was different. The final boss of Part 1 was merely a sadistic pleasure killer who enjoyed tormenting people on a whim.

“She was a crazy woman.”

“Our thought processes are completely different!”

The only joy for the narcissistic Witch Violet was witnessing the suffering of others. That’s why the Infinite Witch committed so many wrongdoings.

“What did the Witch do again?”

In the dormitory, Clone 205 glanced at her roommate beside her.

“She tormented Daphne.”

“Long before that.”

“Didn’t she stage a hostage situation?”

The Violets started recalling the acts the Witch committed in the main storyline. School hostage situations, civilian massacres, bombings, assassinations, random killings…

“She killed children just to provoke Adela.”

“Patients at the facility where Daphne worked were also killed.”

“She would have gone to great lengths to infuriate the Scholarship Officer throughout the academy city.”

The rampaging Infinite Witch even turned against the Obsidian Legion that tried to restrain her. That was probably because she didn’t want to follow orders.

In the end, there was a catastrophe where hundreds to thousands of clones rioted throughout the academy city.

If the barrier Daphne left at the end hadn’t contained the true body of Witch Violet, we might not have caught her.

There were rumors that the clones immediately ceased to function after the true body died, but there have been no mentions since then about what happened afterward. Did they vanish, or did they acquire new abilities like us?

Considering that the prologue of Part 2 doesn’t mention it, it might be true that the true body is dead.

“Ah, then let’s use this method.”

One of the Violets perusing the settings offered an idea.

“Let’s ask our friends to convince them. We’re not that monster you think we are.”

“That’s right. That’ll be faster. Why did we worry?”

The Witch is selfish, hence she has no friends. In contrast, we do have friends. With this, we can make them understand that I’m not the same as that thing.

If I ever meet the Scholarship Officer and she gets angry at us, I should run to my friends. Surely, she wouldn’t ignore them unless she’s a lunatic. Thinking back, I have gotten Adela’s contact information.

“Why on earth did I possess this strange villain?”

“Live more decently! Then we wouldn’t have to deal with such worries.”

We grumbled.

But the evil Witch is no more. What remains are only good Violets who know how to be just and uphold loyalty.

After the discussion ended, we ate the Crystal Flowers we had brought from school. We felt mana rapidly surging.

“Wow, this is amazing!”

“My magical power is rising!”

We immediately started producing clones. The personality-less corpses utilizing the hibernation function slumped onto the floor. As the numbers crossed a certain threshold, new personalities appeared across the Violet Network.

“Wow! What a wonderful world. I’m Clone 300! Nice to meet you!”

“I’m Clone 312!”

The Violets greeted the new Violets and proceeded with new plans.

“From now on, let’s begin the mass production operation for Violets.”

We spend a significant amount of resources on food. If there are 100 Violets, the food cost multiplies by 100.

The bigger problem is the living space. If we produced a thousand Violets, we would need an equally large accommodating space. Even finding a house wouldn’t let us immediately expand that much.

However, by utilizing the newly acquired abilities, we can maximize the space. We can just create Violet bodies and stack them anywhere, saving mana as well.

Meanwhile, in a corner, I was putting Violet bodies into a drum.

I placed a small amount of food, money, and items inside the drum. I plan to bury one of these Violet drums shallowly in each region. They could also double as teleportation beacons in emergencies, preventing our total annihilation.

I intend to steadily increase our clones to build up a force of thousands. It would be a great help for the upcoming great undertaking.

“We need to become stronger than now!”

“Look at the Scholarship Officer; she’s incredibly powerful. Our strength lies in numbers. Let’s increase our numbers quickly.”

The reason we are moving forward with this plan so rapidly is that we were greatly inspired by the Scholarship Officer’s appearance. We still felt insufficient.

On the other hand, it gave me some confidence that even the Scholarship Officer struggled against us.

Thus, we trained, studied, and devoted ourselves to training. As time went by, the day of experiential learning approached.

“Let’s go! Experience points! Relics! Treasure chests!”

“We can do this!”

Finally, it was time to enter the Clovis Great Forest.
