Chapter 81

“Wooaaah!”

I couldn’t help but let out a cheer as I tore open the box packaging. Inside, I saw a microphone neatly stacked with bubble wrap. It looked flimsy on the outside, but it was a mic worth several million won.

If it were the old me, I wouldn’t have even dreamed of buying a mic at that price, but now I could buy as many as I wanted. Although, I’ve been trying to save money lately since my spending habits have been getting a bit out of hand.

Every month, a huge amount of money comes into my account, but apparently, I can’t use most of it. It wasn’t until I became an adult that some option kicked in, and from then on, I didn’t have to worry about money anymore.

Now, a lot of it goes to taxes and the people who helped me establish my identity. But still, a decent amount is left over.

That’s why I felt so painfully regretful about the money I blew on Icarus back then. I must’ve been out of my mind. Spending hundreds of millions on a game… But now, I’ve got all my equipment set up, so there’s no more money going to waste. Thank goodness.

“Hmm hmm~”

I read the Korean manual, trying to figure out how to set up the mic. It said to connect some cable to the main unit.

I thought about calling Bora, but my pride wouldn’t let me ask for help with something so simple. I racked my brain and managed to set up the mic successfully. I’m a genius, after all.

“Ah… Ah…”

I tested the mic by speaking into it, and it worked perfectly. I smiled triumphantly. Ever since I returned to my room, it’s been fully upgraded.

The floor tiles were replaced with pure white ones, and all the products, which were already good, were now top-of-the-line. Everything felt faster, and I loved it. Speed is everything, after all.

I turned on my computer and started streaming as usual. Today, I planned to play League of Legends. LoL doesn’t cost money unless you buy skins, and it’s one of the most popular games. Plus, every match has a different flow, which makes it fun to watch.

Unlike RPGs, which have somewhat predictable patterns, LoL’s unpredictability is probably why it’s so popular.

[‘HanaBoraHaru’ has started streaming.]

Not long after I started streaming, viewers began to join. Even though I didn’t have a mic or camera, a lot of people came to watch, probably because of my “All-Line Grandmaster” title.

After about ten minutes, around 30 people were watching my stream. It might seem like a small number, but for a small-time streamer like me, it was a success.

– Hi hi hi

– Let’s go again today

I smirked as I read the chat. I grabbed the mic and blew into it a couple of times before speaking.

“Hello~”

I figured my voice wouldn’t bother anyone since it sounded pleasant. My old voice was just an average guy’s voice, but now it’s so good I could be a voice actor.

– ???????

– What? Did you just speak?

– Did I hear that wrong?

The chat, which had been updating once every 10 seconds, suddenly exploded with messages every second. I responded.

“I bought a mic! So now I can talk while playing!”

I spoke in a bright voice. Streaming while interacting with viewers in real-time is the true essence of internet streaming. I hadn’t realized how inconvenient it was to only communicate through chat until now.

– LOL, how old are you?

– A female elementary school Grandmaster? I can’t believe it.

– Are you a voice impersonation master?

– Is that a voice changer? Where’d you get it?

As I watched the chat explode with reactions, I could understand why they were so shocked. A female elementary schooler streaming isn’t just rare—it’s practically unheard of. Girls that age are usually too busy with other things to stream.

“It’s not a voice changer???”

Why would I even need to use a voice changer? I opened the task manager to show that nothing was running. After such clear proof, the reactions became even more intense.

– LOLOLOLOL

– I screenshotted all the chats. Everyone who typed here is meeting at the police station.

– Your Honor, I didn’t do anything! Your Honor, I didn’t do anything!

“Uh… No one’s going to sue over something like that… I’m just happy to communicate with the viewers who come to watch my stream.”

Unless someone’s making inappropriate jokes or saying something vulgar, most comments can be brushed off. My viewers aren’t that extreme, so I didn’t think much of it.

I never thought I’d run to the police station to talk if something happened.

But it seems like my words became a helping hand to the viewers.

– Where do you go to elementary school???

– Is your ID your real name???

– Don’t tell me you’re doing a background check, room owner. Or is it okay because your face isn’t out there yet?

“Um… My name is Hana. I’ll be 10 next year. I’m supposed to start school next year. I moved here from somewhere else.”

Of course, I was someone who had graduated from middle school, high school, and even university. It would be weird to go back to elementary school. Even if your school year is delayed by 3-4 years, you get treated like a fossil, but I was being treated like oil.

Maybe I’m the same age as the new teachers at the elementary school?

– Damn, you were born with a silver spoon. My life surviving on ramen and kimchi…

– LOL, when I saw you buying Icarus, I thought you were an uncle, but this is the ultimate plot twist.

– Let’s just play games. Starting today, I’m Hana’s number one fan.

– Wait, was the money for the cubes your dad’s???

“Um… I won’t comment on where the money came from. But I’ll start queuing up right away!”

Following Bora’s advice not to reveal the source of the money, I didn’t go into details. In a way, I was earning it myself, but from another perspective, it could be seen as making money while sucking honey.

If I said you could live this comfortably by just giving away a strand of hair, 90 out of 100 people would raise their hands. Many people who work all day and do that for a month to earn a few million won would feel sick seeing me make money.

Hmm…

I can even think philosophically now. After briefly transforming into an adult’s body, my brain seems to have grown a bit more. I can even solve Korean spelling problems that I used to get wrong easily now! Of course, Haru’s pinpoint lectures helped a lot, but I think my own effort played a part too.

And so, my first victim was caught in the queue. I planned to play mid today. It was the lane I was most confident in. Honestly, if I just kept grinding time, I could probably hit Challenger with mid alone.

So, to teach the person who first-picked mid Lux a lesson, I picked Irelia as a counter and dominated the lane, leading the team to victory. I liked the physicality of this body too. And I was scared of how far I could go if I kept growing. Could I really hit rank 1?

– LOL, that was hilarious.

– This is fun to watch.

– Are you really 10? Doesn’t seem like it.

“I’m really 10. This is absolutely not a lie.”

I confidently stated the truth. If it were my original body, it would have been a lie, but now I was in the body of a baby entering elementary school, so it was true.

But shortly after winning the game, the number of viewers skyrocketed. It was unexpected.

– Is this where Ina gets disciplined?

– Stop talking nonsense, elementary school girl. Use your real voice.

– Honestly, if you beat Ina and feel good, I’ll give you a thumbs up LOL.

Suddenly, the number of viewers increased, and weird comments started popping up.

Summarizing their comments, the conclusion was that I wasn’t an elementary school student but an uncle using a voice changer.

“I don’t use any programs like that.”

I showed the skeptics the facts. The computer manager program with nothing running was the proof. And there was no voice changer program that could produce such a good voice.

The viewers who used to watch my streams took my side, and the viewers who came from Kim Ina’s stream started to agree.

I was surprised when the number of viewers suddenly jumped to 100. Normally, I’d be lucky to get 30. Is this what it’s like to become famous? Seeing the growing number of viewers, I smiled a victorious smile inside. It felt good to have more viewers.
