Chapter 112: Nostalgia for Axi
“Mm! I’m eating.”
Axi nodded lightly, then obediently started his meal.
Airael breathed a sigh of relief in her heart.
She really wasn’t used to it just now.
Wasn’t she supposed to be all high and mighty?
Why did it suddenly change like this?
After finishing their meal, they both headed back upstairs.
In the corridor, Airael and Axi stood between their two doors.
Their rooms were directly opposite each other.
Next to them was Celia and Aurora’s shared room.
Pausing in front of the door, neither of them moved for a moment.
The atmosphere turned a little awkward.
Their relationship had developed way too quickly before.
From confirming their relationship to this point, it had only taken a few minutes.
Axi wanted to invite Airael to his room.
Now that their relationship had progressed to this stage, why not keep it going?
Besides, when meat is dangled in front of you, why not eat it?
After enjoying some intimate moments together, Axi had become a bit addicted.
Especially towards Airael, a beauty who made his heart flutter and was hard to resist.
But he was afraid of startling her.
He’d remembered Airael’s previous rejection well.
Even though that might have been a lie she told out of embarrassment, he was still afraid of that lie becoming true!
“Let’s go to your room; I still have something to discuss with you.”
Breaking the awkward silence, Airael spoke up.
“Okay…!”
Axi was suddenly overjoyed.
He opened his door and gallantly let Airael walk in first.
Airael had no idea she had just entered a wolf’s den.
She really did have something to say to Axi.
Once inside the room, Airael sat down on the sofa.
But as soon as she sat down, memories of their intimate moments flooded her mind.
It seemed like it all started right here.
Suddenly recalling those moments, Airael’s face turned bright red.
At that moment, Axi closed the door and approached her.
When Axi sat beside her, Airael felt even more uncomfortable.
She instinctively tried to distance herself.
But Axi was quicker and reached out to stop her.
He pulled her close into his arms.
Instantly, Airael was enveloped by a strong male presence.
It reminded her of even more embarrassing scenes.
“What are you doing?”
Airael asked angrily.
“I think this is how we should talk,” Axi replied with a grin.
He looked like a hungry wolf.
Airael’s earlier behavior was, in his eyes, a signal for attack.
After resting for a bit, she must be ready now.
And he didn’t want to be some gentleman either.
That wasn’t the norm in this world.
Just like in his past mercenary life, that kind of thing was all too common.
Though he himself was the more restrained type, he didn’t have to be like that anymore.
As he spoke, Axi’s hands started to roam over Airael.
Her body reacting to his touch along with images flashing in her mind made her breath quicken.
She had to admit, Axi was indeed quite talented in that area.
Apart from the initial discomfort, the rest felt very pleasant.
And that blissful feeling was truly intoxicating!
“Quit it! I have serious matters to discuss with you.”
Airael weakly protested.
She leaned against Axi’s chest, her face flushed.
Axi froze at her words, but still held her close, asking, “What is it?”
Fading away, Airael felt a bit disappointed.
But she quickly shook her head to regain her composure, sitting up straight and looking at Axi, asking, “Is there anyone else besides us who knows about the Sword of the King?”
“There are probably others aware of the Sword, but only you and I know that it is currently in my possession.”
Airael nodded knowingly and added, “So we are still in the dark.”
“Yeah!”
Axi nodded in agreement.
“Axi, do you really want to be a king?”
Recalling various things, Airael couldn’t help but ask aloud.
“Ailia, at times like this, you should call me Arthur!”
Axi looked at Airael with seriousness.
He meant it.
“Ar…thur!”
Airael stared at Axi as she called out his new name.
“That’s right.”
Axi, no, now he should be Arthur, nodded with a smile.
“From now on, I am Arthur, not Axi.”
Listening to Arthur’s bold declaration, Airael felt a little congested.
She realized just how much she missed the old Axi.
Axi and Arthur now looked almost identical, yet other aspects were quietly changing.
“Ailia, do you have anything else to discuss?”
Arthur called out to Airael, who had suddenly spaced out.
He was getting a bit impatient.
“Yes!”
Airael snapped back to reality and responded.
“What else is there?”
Axi asked, containing his curiosity.
“Arthur, can you really ascend to the throne just based on the Sword? Those people from Machia won’t just let you come back easily!”
“That’s right; they won’t let me return easily. But they can’t stop me.”
Arthur said with confidence.
His unwavering assurance made Airael a bit mesmerized.
She had to admit, this guy was indeed outstanding.
What he said was truly inspiring.
“Am I charming you?”
Seeing Airael lost in thought, Arthur teased.
“Of course not! I was just thinking about something.”
Airael immediately retorted.
But her response seemed quite weak.
“Is that so?”
Arthur smiled and clearly didn’t believe her.
“Absolutely! Do you think your earlier confident stance was attractive? It was just annoying, arrogant! While you are strong, those people…”
Before she could finish her words, Airael’s mouth was suddenly covered by Arthur’s.
His tongue tangled with hers, forcing her to dance with him.
“Mm~!”
Her subsequent sounds were completely drowned out by their kiss.
After an intense make-out, they both breathed heavily.
Arthur looked at Airael with sincerity, saying, “Ailia, you must believe in me. Those people may be formidable, but I will surpass them!”
“Then you should prove it to me with actions, not just words.”
Airael countered.
“I will! But before that, let me demonstrate my prowess first!”
With that declaration, Arthur smiled and initiated the assault again.
Airael, enduring his advances, found the two entwined within the room.
Without the Sword’s influence, though she felt some resistance in her heart, it was all overpowered by her primal instincts.
