Level Up IlDanSimPanGwan – Chapter 93 (93/227)
Chapter 93: Connections Are Also Skills
That time when the Demon of Greed, Benaron, laid a hand on Ail.
Although Lu intervened midway and completely drove the little bastard off, it seemed her anger wasn’t fully quenched by just messing him up.
And if she had moved the Church itself to hold the Demon of Greed, Benaron, accountable for daring to tempt one of her apostles, then much was explained.
“Of course, as long as the Demon of Greed, Benaron, exists, his followers among demon worshippers will never disappear. But we can crush them so they won’t regain their former strength for at least several decades.”
Executive Arileen continued the story as she walked ahead.
She calmly passed through the dungeon where massacres were taking place, with Ail and Roden quietly following behind.
Especially from Roden’s perspective, who wasn’t part of the Light Church, sticking closely to their tails seemed the safest way to survive this scene of madness.
“Kuaaaaak!”
The cries of sinners in agony echoed from afar.
Undead ones were summarily executed on the spot, but the fanatics and certain users who managed to escape the undead were caught by the Heretical Inquisitors and sentenced.
They hung on both sides of the hallway, heretics pierced with stakes in their limbs like pinned insects.
If pinned insects looked neat, these guys differed in that they were dying while splashing dark red blood everywhere.
“Uh… Surely they won’t do this to me just because I’m an unbeliever, right?”
Roden whispered anxiously to Ail.
Even after years of gameplay and seeing everything possible in Armenia, he’d never witnessed such a sight.
But before Ail could reassure him,
Arileen spoke first, having heard Roden’s words.
“That is something you don’t need to worry about. Anyone who follows the rules of the world and seeks to act virtuously is already one of our fellow believers in the light, regardless of whether they carry a holy book, recite verses, or kneel. After all, those who cannot hear the words of the Goddess within their hearts have already fallen into evil.”
Though her gaze remained fixed ahead, her tone was unexpectedly gentle—not what one would expect from a fanatic—and Roden felt some relief.
However, Eil, a believer of the same church, felt uneasy about something.
“So, has the Church already started moving?”
“Certainly. Once the Goddess reveals Her will, there can be no delay.”
With the direct will of the Goddess descending, most other tasks handled by the Heretical Interrogation Office were put on hold.
Existing pursuits of heretics and hunts for demon-kind were mostly relegated to secondary priorities, and the Church focused nearly all its efforts outside of basic operations towards dismantling the Twilight Council.
But there was a troublesome aspect to this.
‘What to do about this…’
The appearance of the resolute group turning the Church into an enemy.
Their intentions were still unclear, and this wouldn’t end anytime soon.
Given how meticulously they had set traps to annihilate the Church’s judges, something needed to be done to avoid falling prey to their schemes.
When Eil explained the details of the faction targeting the Church, Arileen nodded upon hearing the story.
“Forbidden magic… We’ve had minor conflicts with heretic mages before, but now that they’ve turned outright hostile, they pose a serious threat. The danger is well understood. However, going against the Goddess’s will is not an option. Due to this all-out offensive, we lack the resources to track them intensively.”
“But that…”
“Of course. It doesn’t mean we’ll sit idly by while they run rampant behind us.”

Arileen stopped abruptly in the corridor.
Then, looking directly at Eil, she made an unexpected request.
“Brother, we’d like you to investigate on our behalf.”

“……”
In the swaying carriage, Eil leaned his chin on his hand, reviewing the messages that appeared upon completing the Church’s quest.
Thanks to the bonus rewards, he gained plenty of experience points, leveling up consecutively, and mostly compensated for any losses in contributions.
But these were merely side matters.
There was another reason why Eil had been wearing a bewildered expression since earlier.
‘Didn’t expect the story to unfold like this.’
[Linked Quest: Pursue the Resolute Group (In Progress)]
An active quest in front of his eyes.
Recognizing his great contribution in saving many comrades, he was assigned the task of handling the response to the Resolute Group.
This was far beyond what Eil had imagined—a huge deal.
To be given such an important mission independently within the Light Church meant significant trust underpinned this decision.
This clearly indicated that the quest had been nothing short of a massive success, strengthening his relationship with Arileen and earning him recognition within the Church hierarchy.
‘Plus, it ties perfectly with the World Quest offered by Bloody Hands… Truly an outcome beyond imagination.’
After confirming and dismissing all the message windows, Eil glanced briefly at Roden sitting across from him.
He nodded off deeply as if saying hello in his sleep.
Initially, they had planned to part ways after exiting the dungeon, but since they were heading to the same city, they decided to move together.
Eil shifted his gaze away from Roden and began examining his personal screen, lost in deep thought.
‘Definitely usable…’
What Eil was looking at was the footage recorded during this dungeon run.
Despite initial concerns, the video was more than satisfactory.
There were plenty of high-quality segments that could be extracted and used effectively.
With proper editing, it would undoubtedly stir up great attention again within the Warode community.
However, the editing posed a problem.
He didn’t want to leave such prime material in the hands of his mediocre editing skills.
It was time to seek out a superior professional editor.
Yet, despite searching various sites for someone to handle the footage, Eil hadn’t found anyone suitable.
Warode had been immensely popular for over a year, naturally leading to a booming market for related video production.
Those who were skilled had enormous waiting lists, and others either had problematic rates or timelines.
Of course, Eil’s overly high standards regarding editing quality were the main issue, but there was nothing he could do about that.
‘Should I just do it myself…?’
Eil sighed softly.
If he did it himself, aside from the video quality issues, the amount of time consumed by editing would be burdensome.
Since producing videos wasn’t a one-off thing, he wanted to avoid doing it himself, but currently, he couldn’t think of any better options.
But just then,
[Voice chat request from ‘Lisa’! Accept? (Y/N)]
“Huh?”
Upon receiving the notification, Eil readily accepted Lisa’s call, opening a voice channel at the bottom corner of his screen.
– Hello, Eil, how have you been?
“Thanks to you. The potions you sent last time have been very helpful.”
Eil replied with a light smile.
Though the sudden contact surprised him, they had communicated like this before, so it wasn’t anything major.
– That’s good to hear. By the way, the potions I made this time turned out pretty well. Do you need anything?
“No, I’m fine. I still have some left from last time. Besides, I can’t keep accepting things.”
– Is that so? What a pity.
“Haha, there’s no need to feel sorry about it…”
– Oh, by the way, when will the next video come out? Are you still preparing it?
Lisa’s casual inquiry froze Eil’s relaxed posture on the carriage.
Clearly, she knew about his videos.
“Uh… How did you know?”
– Wasn’t the reaction explosive? How could I not know?
Lisa chuckled pleasantly.
Realizing this, Eil let out a short sigh, accepting the truth.
For anyone else, it might have been different, but once she had seen the video, half-hearted excuses would be useless.
With Lisa’s sharp insight, she could easily identify him from the masked figure in the video, and her tone suggested she was confident.
Perhaps she even understood why Eil had gotten involved in this sort of thing.
‘Ugh… This is embarrassing.’
Eil scratched his head, momentarily speechless.
While the concept play in Warode was relatively free-spirited, it only applied within certain limits.
Eil had become famous unintentionally because of an unconventional concept, and being caught indulging in such eccentricities felt like exposing a private flaw to an acquaintance.
“Well, I figured it would eventually come out…”
Having been exposed, Eil frankly opened up to her about his situation.
Starting from his past as someone pursued by Amaranth trackers, his reasons for drawing attention, and his current struggle with editing…
Initially, he hadn’t planned to spill everything, but somehow, talking with her made him inadvertently share a lot.
And Lisa listened carefully to his stories.
– Indeed… Long-term, you’ll need a professional. Hmm, I know someone in the video editing field. Would you like me to introduce you? They may not be super famous, but their skills are reliable.
