Chapter 48

When one becomes a Hunter, their base stamina skyrockets to levels incomprehensible to regular folk.

Thus, they could lead an energetic life without easily tiring.

Well…usually.

Even with such a dramatic boost, stamina has its limits. Fatigue accumulates over time, and when Hunters push themselves too far, they inevitably grow weary.

Seorin noticed the dark circles forming under her eyes and let out a hollow laugh. She had heard that Hunters recover so efficiently that getting dark circles was practically unheard of…yet here she was, achieving the impossible.

She wondered if this was the fruit of her hard work or simply stubbornness…

Deciding not to show any signs of weakness in front of Hae-un and Chae-a, Seorin focused on healing Hae-un instead. But suddenly, Hae-un reinforced a chair and gestured for Seorin to sit.

“How about taking a rest?”

This wasn’t just any chair – thanks to Hae-un’s skills, it provided double the relaxation effects. Normally, someone who creates such a wonderful item would claim it for themselves first…

But without hesitation, Hae-un offered it to Seorin.

“Is she an angel?”

No, scratch that – she IS an angel. Thinking there couldn’t possibly be a kinder person in existence, Seorin resisted the urge to hug Hae-un and carefully sat down instead.

“…Hnnn…”

How does one describe this feeling? Like soaking in a hot spring after a marathon? Or collapsing onto your bed after 20 hours of studying?

Whatever it was, every ounce of fatigue melted away as soon as she sat down.

“This is amazing…”

It might even be better than lying in bed. As much as she wanted to stay like this forever, she knew she needed to train for Hae-un’s sake. Gathering her resolve, she stood up just as Hae-un cheerfully said:

“This is Seorin’s special chair! Take a break here whenever you’re tired, okay?”

Grateful beyond words, Seorin instinctively reached out to ruffle Hae-un’s hair, only to see her shyly wagging her tail in happiness.

“I need to work even harder…”

Word was spreading about the terrorist organization, and eradication operations had begun. It wouldn’t be long before her chance came. As an S-class prospect, she vowed to accept all related missions and eliminate every last member of the group.

Watching Seorin’s determined expression, I tilted my head curiously before glancing at Somtul, who was bouncing around excitedly from my earlier praise.

I decided I should compliment her more often as I absentmindedly petted her head. Noticing her dark circles fading, Seorin thanked me sincerely.

“Hae-un, thank you so much! How can I ever repay you? Should I buy you some ice cream?”

“Nah, seeing Seorin happy is enough!”

Though I tried to decline politely, Seorin wasn’t listening. She gathered me, Chae-a, and Somtul into her arms.

“Then let’s go get some ice cream!”

I giggled as I dangled limply from her grip.

Despite all our activities, the only thing I gained was a white chair. Clearly, I needed to complete more requests. Turning on the live stream, I asked the viewers if anyone needed help…

[SeorinSeorin – I want to bite tails too!]

[AnimalLover – Is Somtul doing well? Looks like it! Lucky girl…]

[ExploringIsFun – If you let me pet those horns, I’ll buy you as much furniture as you want!]

[WhiteMouthHere – Ahahaha, Hae-un is so cute!]

With no pressing needs from the viewers, I began pondering what to do next when the Spirit Master uncle entered the Lair.

“I’ve come to water the flowers.”

Seeing his friendly smile, I hesitantly asked:

“Uh…do you have any errands for me?”

The Spirit Master looked surprised. “Me? Ask YOU for help?”

Nodding confidently, I declared: “Absolutely!”

“Well…even if you say that, it feels strange asking a child…”

“I’m NOT a child!”

“A-ah, right…”

After a moment’s thought, the Spirit Master seemed to decide to humor me.

“How about coming to my project room with Chae-a? There’s something I want to check.”

Ah yes, Chae-a was a Life Spirit unfamiliar even to the Spirit Master. This seemed less like a request and more like seeking Chae-a’s cooperation, making me feel somewhat awkward.

Still, hearing this, I lit up with excitement.

‘There must be messy things to organize or errands to run!’

Surely there were tasks he hadn’t gotten around to. I resolved to help with recycling, emptying trash cans, or making coffee while tagging along.

At that moment, Seorin gave us a sheepish smile.

“I’m off to train now. Please take care of her.”

“Alright, good luck with training.”

“Thank you!”

With that, Seorin walked off looking rather reluctant to leave. Waving goodbye, I decided to focus on gathering furniture.

“The project room isn’t anything grand – it’s just where Spirit Masters come to relax.”

The Spirit Master carried me, Chae-a, and Somtul as he explained. Listening intently, I blinked in curiosity. Seeing this, he smiled and continued.

“You don’t need to do anything specific – just playing with the spirits will help. As you know, both Hae-un and Chae-a included, spirits get lonely easily.”

Hearing this, Chae-a proudly chimed in:

“That’s right! Chae-a cries when Hae-un isn’t around!”

Seeing her proud expression, I smiled warmly. The Spirit Master then set us down in a spacious area.

“Don’t be surprised now – I’ve put quite a bit of effort into decorating this place.”

Opening the door, he revealed the space within. True to his word, it was beautifully decorated to resemble a forest.

‘So this is why he was so confident…’

Using nature as a base, the room featured a large central tree surrounded by various plants, creating a stunning environment.

Noticing my awe, the Spirit Master chuckled.

“You mentioned needing furniture, right? The spirit children have made several pieces – feel free to take some.”

Curious about spirit-made furniture, I eagerly anticipated seeing it. Suddenly, cheerful music and giggling echoed from afar.

“What’s that sound?”

Intrigued, I grabbed Chae-a’s hand and approached cautiously. To our delight, we found animals gathered together watching children’s cartoons.

“Aww, those are spirits like Chae-a!”

Indeed, these must be spirits. Watching various animals coexisting peacefully, I nodded approvingly. Just then, a man in glasses approached with a warm smile.

“Ah, Hae-un and Chae-a have arrived. Welcome.”

Understanding proper etiquette, Chae-a and I greeted him politely. He seemed delighted and, fishing in his coat pocket, asked:

“Would you like something to drink? Cola? Orange juice? Or perhaps strawberry milk?”

Strawberry milk…for some reason, I desperately wanted it and quickly nodded. Smiling fondly, he continued:

“So Hae-un wants strawberry milk…how about you, Chae-a? Would you like strawberry milk too?”

“Yup!”

As Chae-a enthusiastically agreed, I waited eagerly for our treats. Just then, the Spirit Master arrived with a playful grin.

“Hae-un, Chae-a, did you know something interesting?”

Wondering what it could be, I tilted my head. With a mischievous smile, he revealed:

“Strawberry milk is pink…but do you know why?”

Assuming it was because of strawberries, I nodded casually. But then the Spirit Master dropped a bombshell:

“It’s not because of strawberries – it’s because of BUGS that it’s pink. Did you know?”

At this revelation, the previously cheerful Chae-a froze solid in shock.
